- Due to a lack of ABRaS coaches we regret to announce that there is no longer a mini ABRaS group
- Mini ABRaS is a junior running club for children aged 7 - 12 years and is suitable for all standards of running.
- The club is organised by experienced running coaches and we meet every Tuesday from 5:30 - 6:30pm on the 400m track at Dubai American Academy.
- Runners are asked to wear appropriate sports clothing and running shoes and bring a bottle of water.
As well as offering fun, fitness sessions we also hold track meets and encourage our runners to take part in the other junior running races held during the cooler months in the UAE.

A very hot day for the juniors, so they did very well to finish; Elisha was 3rd U12 in 21:38 and Lily competed her first race in 24:30, Max finished 2nd U12 in 18:19

Some Fantastics running from all the Mini ABRaS in this event, with everyone showing amazing improvements! First U13 boy was Max in 15:46, 2nd U13 Hugo in 18:03 and Samuel completed his first go at the distance in 22:49. For the girls Elisha was 2nd U13 in 19:09 and Luca was 5th in 19:58.
DC Primary Schools Athletics
Well done to those members who were selected by their schools to compete in the Primary Schools athletics champs on 3 March. Katrina won both the 75m sprint and 55m hurdles, Emil won the long jump and was 3rd in the 600m and high jump, Euan was in the long jump, throwing and hurdles, Ben was in the 600m, Elisha ran in the 600m and Max set a new club record for 600m U10 boys of 2:02.
DAA Open meet results
Great to see more mini ABRaS and juniors at the open track meet this week. Sam Gabutt ran another good 100m in 17.25 and in the 800m Max Powell ran 2:49.3 (U10 club record), Alanna Rayfield broke 3 min for the first time, 2:59.8 and Elisha Powell ran 3:01.9 (U10 club record).

Sam has continued to improve in the DAA open track meets and now has a 200m time of 38.90 and a 100m time of 16.78.
Well done to Sam Garbutt who took part in the first Dubai open track meet on 29 Jan. He ran the 100m in 17.0 and finished 1st U13 boy.

ABRaS Hatta Fort Hotel Cross-Country, 26 Nov
Well done to all the mini ABRaS members that ran the cross-country and made it up the big hill. There were some fantastic runs, particularly Max Powell who finished 2nd overall, closely followed by Emil Rayfield, new members Matthew Lamb and Mark Baxter also had great runs to finish 2nd U12 male and 3rd U10 male and Harrison Berrill who won the U8 category also beating a couple of much older runners.
